Our R&D colleague Elena Basili started as an intern at SFR at the end of 2023. She studied MSc Animal Sciences at WUR, with a specialization in Adaptation Physiology (ADP).
Why did you want to work at SFR?
‘SFR is a well-known independent research institute I learned about during my studies, which led me to choose it for my MSc internship. Its unique combination of research, consultancy and education. Along with its independent position, made it an ideal choice.’
Is this your first job after graduation?
‘Yes, this is my first job. While I was completing my internship at SFR, a position in the R&D team opened, and I was fortunate to secure it.’
Can you tell me what you do on a normal workday?
‘A typical day includes setting-up and managing research projects, writing protocols and reports, handling emails, meetings and collaborating with other departments within SFR and clients. My role also involves giving presentations and attending events.’
What do you like about working at SFR?
‘I really appreciate the supportive and dynamic environment at SFR. It’s a place where knowledge and practical application come together. I enjoy the variety in my role and the chance to work with skilled colleagues on innovative projects.’
