POULTRY CARETAKER

SFR is a research institute with a ruminant farm, a swine farm, and a poultry farm. The poultry farm raises both laying hens and broilers. If research requires it, we also raise turkeys and ducks. Our team of animal caretakers consists of five people responsible for all tasks related to poultry farming and research.

As an all-round poultry worker, you’ll have a varied job. Initially, you’ll be responsible for caring for the poultry. In addition, you’ll conduct observations for research. This will be done in collaboration with the biotechnicians and the research team.

MAIN DUTIES

• Caring for poultry
• Conducting research activities, together with the test supervisors
• Taking samples
• Making observations
• Willingness to work weekends or on-call shifts

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Agricultural vocational education (MBO), level 4
• Interest in poultry research
• Working accurately with computer-controlled feeding and climate control systems
• Organizational and planning experience
• Willingness to take courses
