Schothorst Feed Research (SFR) is a leading research institute with ruminant, swine, and poultry farms in Lelystad. Our modern dairy farm has approximately 230 dairy cows and youngstock and achieves an average production level of over 11,000 kg of milk per cow.

As a Ruminant Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the entire operational management and the practical implementation of research on the farm. You will lead your team and ensure strong and reliable performance. Our researchers design the nutritional studies; you will ensure their correct execution in close collaboration with colleagues from the research center and laboratory.

You will also play a key role in translating innovations and developments in dairy farming into daily practice on our own farm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ultimately responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of the company.
Organizing and ensuring the practical implementation of research experiments.
Managing, coaching and planning five animal caretakers.
Acting as a cooperating foreman within the team.
Intensive collaboration with colleagues from different departments.
Making an active contribution to courses and knowledge transfer.
Providing guided tours for visitors, relations and other stakeholders.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

MBO+/HBO work and thinking level
5 years of (practical) experience in dairy farming
Management experience
Communication skills
Knowledge of legislation and regulations
